CompTIA Network+ Practice Test โ€” N10-009

Free CompTIA Network+ (N10-009) practice questions. Covers networking fundamentals, subnetting, protocols, security, and troubleshooting with full explanations.

CompTIA Network+ (N10-009) validates the networking knowledge required for network administrator, network technician, and cloud infrastructure roles. This practice set covers all five N10-009 domains: Networking Fundamentals (23%), Network Implementation (19%), Network Operations (17%), Network Security (20%), and Network Troubleshooting (21%).

Subnetting appears in multiple domains and is the single most important skill for this exam. If you cannot subnet confidently, practise it separately every day until it is automatic. Every other networking concept builds on your ability to understand IP addressing.

The flashcard set covers port numbers, protocols, OSI model layer functions, and key networking terms โ€” the vocabulary foundation you need before tackling scenario-based questions.

Study tip: Know your port numbers. Many Network+ questions describe a service or attack and expect you to identify the port, or vice versa. Memorise at minimum: 21 FTP, 22 SSH, 23 Telnet, 25 SMTP, 53 DNS, 67/68 DHCP, 80 HTTP, 110 POP3, 143 IMAP, 443 HTTPS, 445 SMB, 3389 RDP.
